📌Subchondral Insufficiency Fracture: A Case Study and Prognosis
✅ MRI Findings
- Hypointense fracture line
- Low signal intensity beneath subchondral bone plate
- Minimal articular surface flattening
- Thickened appearance of subchondral bone plate
✅ Key Diagnostic Points
- Low signal area beneath subchondral bone plate: critical for early diagnosis
- Subchondral bone plate deformity: subtle flattening or focal depression
✅ Prognosis Factors (Sayyid et al.) High-grade SIF
- Medial meniscus posterior root tears with associated moderate to severe extrusion.
- High-grade chondrosis.
- Larger lesion sizes (anteroposterior/transverse).
- Articular surface collapse.
