[Tear_13] Wrisberg Rip_Longitudinal-Vertical Tears -11

by MSK MRI 2021. 10. 10.

The pseudotear caused by the high signal band located between the MFLs and the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus.
Wrisberg rip is the longitudinal tear of the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus.

Differentiation of this tear from the normal pseudo-tear is made by lateral extension of the cleft between the meniscus and meniscofemoral ligament by 1.4 cm or more lateral to the lateral margin of the PCL.

the measurement of its angulation with regard to the tibial plateau

The orientation of the pseudotears was always from an anterosuperior to a posteroinferior direction with angulation varying from 37 to 90°, and a few cases with a vertical angle (90°).

Steep angles of the MFLs may mimic a peripheral vertical longitudinal tear.
