1️⃣Primary Signs of ACL Tear
- Focal Discontinuity of Fibers.
- Increased Intrasubstance Signal on Fluid Sensitive Sequences:
- Mass-like Tissue in the Expected Location of the ACL Without Normally Oriented Fibers
- Abnormal Orientation or Bowing of Fibers
2️⃣Tears of the ACL
- Location of Tears: ACL tears are predominantly midsubstance but can also occur at its femoral or, less commonly, tibial attachments.
- Common Findings: The most frequently observed combination of MRI findings includes diffusely increased signal and enlargement of the ACL, accompanied by focal discontinuity, signifying a tear.
