ACL Reconstruction with Remnant Preservation
1️⃣ Advantages
- Faster Healing: Accelerates graft revascularization and remodeling.
- Improved Sensation: Preserves proprioceptive fibers
- Better Healing Environment: Enhances the biological setting for recovery.
- Stable Anchor Point: Maintains natural attachment at the tibia, supporting knee stability.
- Reduced Tunnel Enlargement: Lowers the risk of tibial tunnel widening.
2️⃣ Disadvantages
- Surgical Challenges: May complicate tibial tunnel placement and risk cyclops lesion formation.
- Technical Demands: Requires high surgical expertise.
3️⃣ Clinical Evidence
- Studies are varied and show promising but not definitive evidence for the superiority of remnant preservation in ACL reconstruction.
