✅ Meniscal Flounce and Its Associations:

• The most significant factor linked to meniscal flounce is a tear at the posterior horn of the medial meniscus (PHMM), followed by a tear at the meniscocapsular junction.
• When meniscal flounce is observed on knee MRI, it's essential to perform a thorough evaluation to check for potential coexisting tears of the PHMM and the meniscocapsular junction.

✅ Meniscocapsular Tear and Its Implications:

• Meniscocapsular tears can lead to posterior meniscocapsular separation, resulting in the formation of a meniscal flounce.
• While the presence of meniscal flounce itself is not strongly associated with an increased incidence of meniscal tears, it should prompt careful assessment for possible ligamentous or capsular injuries.
