✅ Meyers and McKeever Classification System for Tibial Spine Fractures

  • Type I Injury:
Characterized by a minimally displaced fragment. This type of injury typically responds well to conservative treatment methods.
  • Type II Injury:
This subtype features an anterior elevation of the fracture fragment, indicating a more significant displacement compared to Type I.
  • Type III and IV Injuries:
Both these categories signify the complete separation of the fragment from the tibia, with Type IV also incorporating either a rotational component or comminution of the fragment.

Treatment Recommendations:

  • Type I Injuries: Given their minimal displacement, conservative treatment is usually sufficient.
  • Type II to IV Injuries: Arthroscopy is recommended and necessitates internal fixation to ensure proper healing and restoration of function.
