📌 Hemorrhagic Superficial Infrapatellar Bursitis
✅ Case Study: Imaging Findings
- Complex fluid collections anterior and slightly superior to tibial tuberosity
- Complex fluid collections with fluid-fluid levels
- High-signal-intensity layers related to methemoglobin in hematoma
- T1WI shows linear high signal intensity in the peripheral portion
✅ Understanding Intrabursal Hemorrhage
- Causes complex fluid collections with variable signal intensity
- Common in superficial bursae after acute trauma
- More frequent in older, anticoagulated patients with preexisting bursitis
✅ Diagnostic Challenges
Difficulty distinguishing between:
a) Hemorrhage confined to bursa
b) Extrabursal hematoma
c) Prepatellar Morel-Lavallée lesion
Initial management approach is identical for all these conditions
