📌 Inferior Posteromedial Recess

  • Location: Bordered by the meniscotibial ligament and tibial plateau.
  • Visibility: Not typically accessible via arthroscopy.

  • When the Inferior Posteromedial Recess is filled with joint fluid, it can be mistaken for a Ramp lesion, specifically a Type 3B Ramp lesion.
  • Understanding the detailed anatomy of the posterior medial capsule and the meniscotibial ligament is essential to avoid misdiagnosis.

✅ Greif’s Classification of Type 3 Ramp Lesions

  • Type 3A: Vertical tear at the inferior margin of the posterior horn.
  • Type 3B: Tear of the meniscotibial ligament at the posterior horn attachment.
