📌 Rheumatoid Arthritis
✅ Early Identification and Quantification of Synovitis
- MR imaging helps in the early detection and quantification of synovitis, a key predictor for future erosions in rheumatoid arthritis.
✅ Synovial Proliferation
- Synovial proliferation in rheumatoid arthritis appears as a mass-like tissue prominence within the joint capsule on MR imaging.
- It shows low signal on T1-weighted images and hyperintense on T2-weighted or STIR sequences.
✅ Bone Edema and Erosion Prediction
- Bone edema often accompanies synovitis and is found in subchondral bone.
- In the hands and wrists, its presence is the strongest predictor of future erosions.
