The long and short plantar ligaments (sometimes referred to together as the plantar or inferior calcaneocuboid ligament) stabilize the plantarmedial calcaneocuboid joint.
The calcaneocuboid component of the bifurcate ligament (also referred to as the medial calcaneocuboid ligament) arises from the anterior process of the calcaneus, just medial to the origin of the dorsal calcaneocuboid ligament, and inserts on the dorsomedial cuboid
The dorsal calcaneocuboid ligament and the calcaneocuboid component of the bifurcate ligament may be continuous and thus can be difficult to distinguish from each other
