๐งฒ MRI Insights: Displaced Flap Tear into the Popliteal Hiatus ๐ฅ
๐ Beyond a Simple Tear:
- This case isn't just a full-thickness radial tear. It's a displaced flap tear, with a trajectory moving posteromedially due to a tear in the body of the lateral meniscus.
- Originating from the lateral meniscus's body, the flap tear shifts posteromedially.
๐ Flipped Flap Tear:
- Interestingly, we see a horizontal flap tear that has flipped posteriorly into the popliteus hiatus.
๐ Popliteus Tendon Involvement:
- The popliteus tendon sheath might provide a potential space for the displaced lateral meniscus flap tear.
- The displaced flap tear fragment is noticeable inferior to the lateral joint line and anterior to the popliteus tendon.
