1️⃣ Graft Infection after ACL Reconstruction

  • Graft infection following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACLR) is rare, with an incidence rate of 0.1–0.9%.
  • These infections are most commonly identified in the early postoperative phase.

2️⃣ MRI Signs of Graft Infection

  • Synovitis with Lamellated Synovium: Indicative of inflammation within the synovial membrane.
  • Bone Erosion, Periarticular Edema
Bone Erosions of the Tunnels: A loss of cortical hypointensity in the tunnels can be observed, suggesting infection.
  • Sinus Tract Formation, Abscess Formation
  • Periarticular Fascial Edema
  • ACL graaft: Focal or diffuse increases in signal intensity on T2-weighted MRI images can indicate fibrinous exudates on the graft surface.
