1️⃣ Normal Meniscal Morphology After Partial Meniscectomy
- Following a partial resection, the meniscal morphology undergoes notable changes.
- There is a diminution of meniscal tissue, characterized by a smooth, regular appearance.
- Often, the free edge appears slightly blunted. It's not uncommon to observe mild irregularities in the meniscal contour, especially within the first 6-9 months post-surgery.
- These irregularities tend to smooth out and remodel over time, leading to a more uniform appearance.
2️⃣ Normal Signal Intensity After Partial Meniscectomy
- Post-meniscectomy, the meniscus frequently exhibits an increased short TE signal that reaches the articular surface, mirroring changes seen in the post-repair meniscus.
- This phenomenon is likely attributable to the debridement of degenerative intrasubstance signal back to a stable base, indicating a normal post-operative finding.
