  • Research suggests that a combination of an increased posterior-directed slope of the tibial plateau and a shallow medial tibial plateau depth significantly contributes to the risk of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.
  • To accurately measure the slope of the tibial plateau, the procedure involves determining the angle between a line that connects the peak points on the anterior and posterior aspects of the plateau and a line perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tibia.
  • This measurement is taken in the sagittal planes.
