✅ Semimembranosus Tendon Insertion Injuries

  • Repetitive Stress Causes Insertion Abnormalities
  • Insertional Tendinosis
  • Distal Semimembranosus Insertional Tendinosis
  • Chronic Repetitive Stress Leads to Insertion Changes

✅Repetitive Stress Causes Insertion Abnormalities

  • Repetitive injury and stress at the insertion site result in irregularity and cystic changes at the posteromedial tibia.
  • Chronic, repetitive stress of the tibial insertion of the semimembranosus results in insertional tendinosis, with thickening of the tendon at its tibial insertion.
  • Insertional tendinosis is seen in association with chronic, repetitive injuries and stress of the tibial insertion of the semimembranosus, resulting in irregularity and cystic changes at the level of the posterior medial tibia.
