📌Osgood-Schlatter Disease:  Identifying Symptomatic Patients

  • Bone fragmentation at the tibial tuberosity alone does not indicate symptom presence
  • Key indicators of symptomatic chronic active Osgood-Schlatter disease:
  • MRI provides better visualization of these changes

 

📌Case study

Chronic Active Stage

- Edematous symptomatic bone fragmentation 

- Deep infrapatellar bursitis 

- Altered signal intensity of the patellar tendon

 

Healing Stage 

- Bone fragmentation at the tibial tuberosity may still be present 

- Absence of: - Bone marrow edema-like changes - Deep infrapatellar bursitis - Patellar tendinosis
