📌O'Donoghue's Unhappy Triad

  • The O'Donoghue unhappy triad refers to a combined injury involving three specific structures: the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the medial collateral ligament (MCL), and the medial meniscus.

📌Expansion to Tetrad and Pentad Lesions

  • Tetrad Lesion: When there is an additional injury to the Medial Patellofemoral Ligament (MPFL), the condition escalates to what is termed a tetrad lesion.
  • Pentad Lesion: Further complexity is added with a pentad lesion, which includes the injuries of a tetrad lesion plus an additional injury to the lateral meniscus or popliteomeniscal fascicles.
