📌 Iliotibial Band Syndrome
- Common cause of lateral knee pain related to intense physical activity
- Results in chronic inflammation of fat adjacent to iliotibial band
✅MRI Findings of Iliotibial Band Syndrome
- Ill-defined signal abnormality within fatty soft tissues between iliotibial band and bone
- In the knee: Low T1 and high T2 signal in soft tissues lateral to lateral femoral condyle, indicating edema/fluid
📌Posteromedial Knee Friction Syndrome
- Edema between posteromedial femoral condyle, sartorius and gracilis tendons
- Caused by approximation of posteromedial femoral condyle and adjacent tendons
- Occasional bone marrow edema in non-weight bearing posteromedial femoral condyle
